Several people in our neighborhood are fairly well-versed on the status of this and we should do an overview at Tuesday night’s meeting.

Today was our regular pick up day. We are still schedule A. Our last missed pick up day was April 16. The city came by and picked up recycles that were still out on April 18. The signs are to help neighbors remember our regular recycling days and encourage more of our neighbors to recycle. We have volunteers putting them out. One neighbor painted MONDAY on each of them (they originally said TUESDAY) and she finished just before the weekend. We went ahead and put all the signs out we could this time. But, not all block captains were in town or able to get the signs out.

We should have more signs out in each of our blocks for the next pick up Monday, May 14.

Why was recycling picked up today when for the most part it was picked up last week?
Correct me if I’m wrong, but Norfolk residents on the block nearest Shepherd didn’t have any sign notifying us that recycling would be taking place today. We would have appreciated an email (like this) notifying us ahead of time that the City of Houston would be collecting recycling today.
