METRO puts off plans for university rail line

Over the last decade, METRO spent $71 million of your dollars to build a rail line. But the agency recently took that project off the table for at least another decade and no work has been done.

This story is a good example of what has happened with the “original” plan. with support of Neartown Association and super-neighborhoods, how the collected taxes are divided and used will appear as a referendum on the November ballot. Several people in our neighborhood are fairly well-versed on the status of this and we should do an overview at Tuesday night’s meeting.
